At the end of May 2012, the EU Cookie Directive was put into effect. In short, this directive includes the need to let visitors aware that cookies are being used within the site and that by continuing to browse the site they accept this.
Shane Jones and I have developed a plugin that is very simple – it adds a small popup bar on your screen letting people know there are cookies being used and letting the person accept this or view more information on the matter. If you look to the bottom right of this website you will see the plugin in action.

Installation:
- Download the plugin direct from the Plugin Page at WordPress.
- Upload the whole plugin folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
- Go to the Plugins page and activate the plugin
- Configure the settings in the admin area
- Done!
